Types of Water Features You Can Add to Your Pool
Adding a water feature to your pool gives it a whole new
level of sophistication. There are numerous
benefits of water features in your pool, and many options to choose from as
well. Water features also come in different sizes. You can choose water
features as small or as big as you can imagine.
Let us look at the
different water feature concepts below:
1.
Waterfalls
Waterfalls usually have a large amount of water flowing from
them. There are numerous waterfall
designs; for example, you can make one over some stacked rocks at the side
of the pool. You can also create a different waterfall sound by changing the
surface which the water touches before it falls. Some materials that you can
use include stone, fiberglass, or concrete.
The sound that the waterfall makes also depends on the
amount of water passing through it at any given time, and how high it is. Addition
of LED lights will also give it a more stunning look.
2.
Lamina jets
Laminar or deck jets are beautiful to watch, and they are
also easy
to design. They are arc-shaped jets of water that run from under the pool
and are attached to a nozzle that thrushes the water out of the surface of the
pool. Deck jets are so smooth that they stay at the same place at all times. They
are so flawless that you cannot tell that water is moving from one point to
another. A laminar jet also does not splash even when it encounters an obstacle
along its way. Laminar jets also transmit light uniformly. Adding some light to
them makes them look spectacular especially at night.
3.
Water
bubblers or gurglers
These are features that give water the impression of
bubbling from inside. Your bubblers can be large, small, and as many as you
want to put into your pool. They are very affordable compared to other water
features such as scuppers. Children also love playing where there are bubblers.
4.
Cascades
Different from a waterfall, in a cascade, water flows through
many piled up rocks before it finds its way into the pool. You can make the
rocks lie low, or you may decide to make them high by piling them up on each
other, so that the water almost comes from many waterfall impressions.
5.
Scones and scuppers
Scuppers are just like sconces though they are wider and
carry more water. These water features take water from a higher to a lower
level such as an in-ground pool through a wall. They can descend in stages and
create a loyal-like look. You can also use filters to get rid of any dirt or other
unwanted particles.
Water features are beautiful to behold, and they are
suitable for overall relaxation. The fact that you can add and adjust lighting
as per the occasion means that you can give your pool a new look whenever you
want. Your pool becomes the place where you can relax and have fun with your friends
and family.
